Few days ago, I was surfing and came across this blog (can’t remember the url) and the author posted that when she/he first started his/her hosting business, she/he got herself/himself a toll free phone number.I think if you can’t communicate face to face with your clients, then the second best option would be communicating through phone.Ideally, one should install an efficient phone system in the office, like those which can make/hold/direct phone calls such as Avaya phones.
That author stated that after getting a toll free phone number, the hosting business improved and the customers were impressed by it and they thought they were dealing with a well established hosting company.As for me, I should probably purchase some skype credits (cheaper) so that I can make some overseas calls.
Anyways, it depends on what kind of business you are in too.Not all companies need a toll free number.But if you have a substantial customer base and you provide support for your products/services, then you definitely should get a toll free number.
