Dell Vostro laptops are suitable for small home businesses.The specs are kinda similar to the Inspiron line up but the Vostro should be more solid and sturdy as it is a business class laptop (although low end) after all.The warranty cover are more comprehensive and a 24 x 7 phone support is available, depending on which warranty plan you choose.
There are two types of Vostro available - Dell Vostro 1000 and Vostro 1400. The Vostro 1000 spots a 15.4″ screen while the Vostro 1400 has a 14.1″ screen. Vostro 1000 runs on the AMD Sempron or AMD Turion 64 X2 processor while Vostro 1400 runs on Intel.
ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 HyperMemory (integrated) is available as an option on the Vostro 1000 while the Vostro 1400 runs on either Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X31008 or NVIDIA GeForce Go 8400M GS with 128MB dedicated graphic memory.
Another difference between those two Vostro is their weight.The Vostro 1000 weighs about 6.26 lbs (2.84 kg) [without the battery I suppose] while the Vostro 1400 weight starts from 5.39 lbs (2.45 kg).
