Should you register your domains with Godaddy or Namecheap ? Personally, I use both. I usually register my domains with NameCheap as they offer a free one year private registration for new registration. However, the price are slightly higher than Godaddy’s even if you use the coupon. But since the private registration is included, I feel its worth it.
If you don’t need private registration, then you can register your domains with Godaddy and apply some coupons (search for them) and you will get it at $6.95 (ICANN price not included) instead of the usual price.
Recently I transfer a bunch of about to expire domains from godaddy to namecheap as namecheap offers free private registration for every transfer and the prices of its private registration are also cheaper compared to godaddy’s. Godaddy’s $8.99 a year compared to Namecheap’s $2.88 a year. Godaddy offers free private registration if you register or transfer five or more domains. It used to be 3 domains last year.

I’ve recently heard of namecheap in connection with a godaddy rant - the free (or very cheap) private registration feature is what really sets it apart - especially if you’re building a portfolio of domains. I’ll be trying it in the future.
